Some of the basic procedures that I normally do are :

1. To determine if the site is indexed by search engine. Key in site:bbs.malaysiabrides.com in the search box to search for indexed pages. If nothing is indexed, submit the site to search engines.

2. To determine competitors. Key in the targeted key phrases and see how others are doing. Target certain position and work out a strategy. For example if search for 马来西亚婚纱, bbs.malaysiabrides.com is located at the end of second result page, my first target is to move it up to first result in second page.

3. To create sufficient keyword density. Try to incorporate the targeted keywords into your content in order to achieve certain level of density. The “visibility” and “amount” of keywords must be correct.

4. To rethink your navigation. Make sure your desired content/keywords can be discovered by the search robots.

5. To verify your html pages. Make sure simple html is used in order not to confuse the robots. Although nowadays robots are clever enough to crawl any type of content, I still prefer simple stuff.

6. To make sure that your page titles are optimised. Don’t put all the keywords in the page title, you can only target a few at a time. Although ppl say robots don’t look at title anymore, I still think it is important or is a good practice.

7. Monitor your traffic frequently. Find out what keywords bring you the most traffic, monitor your targeted keywords’ performance, etc, you need to keep fine tuning the strategy in order to achieve good result.

Last but not least, don’t spend too much time on it.

Finally we have launched a Chinese BBS for our Malaysia Wedding Portal.

After months or years of observation, I find that lot of of Malaysian Chinese still prefer to communicate in Chinese language, for example to participate in a Chinese forum. In order to capture this segment of users and visitors, it will be wise to extend the features to such users. Personally I do met people who are quite active in Chinese cari forum as they can communicate a lot more better in Chinese.

Lets see how this goes, I really wish to see it go big, and may be bigger than the parent.

More and more people think can earn easy money from Adsense, more and more such sub quality sites get created. I guess after awhile when they realize there is no easy money, they will just stop.

LOL, seems easier to understand. Nowadays people just use it(blog software) as a CMS, that’s for people with limited web publishing knowledge(or don’t border to do the dirty job) to put their content online. I guess we cannot call a person who run a site, that powered by blog software, a blogger anymore.

There are good websites that run by individual, but where are you? Why don’t you come out and shout that you are a qualified webmaster?

I suppose to blog about the event, but after so many weeks i still not ready for that. A lot of follow up work need to be done, but i’ve achieve none……… Will do that real soon.

The 200 over people crowd filled the whole club, and the emcee is one of the best that i ever see, who really live the whole event up. My income stream comes from Ringgit Malaysia, USD, and British Pound, in average, USD still bring in the most at the moment. With lousy exchange rate, i am seeing less and less in my monthly statement.

From the available slip that i can find at the moment, the highest USD to SGD exchange is 1.765 at March 2003. From the latest slip i have, the exchange rate is 1.465 at October 2007. That is really sucks…..
