Computer systems integrator Datacraft Asia Ltd extended its gains after reporting a 158 pct rise in year to September net profit to 26.31 mln usd, boosted by a one-time gain of 5.2 mln arising from an insurance settlement, dealers said. In early morning trade, Datacraft was up 0.03 usd or 2.61 pct at 1.18 on volume of 785,000 shares. Excluding the extraordinary gain, Datacraft said earnings still doubled as it continued to focus on achieving higher services revenue and gross margins. Datacraft is a unit of UK-listed South African IT services company Dimension Data Holdings PLC. “The results demonstrate the benefits of the group’s focus on more profitable, high-value business and continued emphasis on productivity,” Datacraft said in a statement.
Datacraft also announced an annual dividend of 2.96 US cents, its first payout since 2001, as well as a special dividend of 1.75 US cents, reflecting the company’s confidence in its long-term growth opportunities and financial strength. “Looking ahead, we remain optimistic as we start the year with a healthy order backlog valued at approximately 143 mln usd. We see continued strength and growth in the markets we operate in and expect the momentum to remain strong,” Datacraft chief executive Bill Padfield said. |
